8800gt and the requirements?
recently ive been going crazy over graphics cards and im stuck with one that i ordered for sure but i might return one that is about to come to me i was wondering if my power supply it has 2 rails at 18amps and the other one is 16amps its 500watts total and will this be enough to power the 8800gt, if this helps my computer specs are its an
amd 3800+
3gigs of ram 250gb harddrive
i know i have all the connectors in my power supply would my rig be able to handle this new card, if so i guess ill get it.
Ultra / X-Finity / 500-Watt / ATX / 120mm Fan / SATA-Ready / SLI-Ready / Titanium Blue / Power Supply thats my power supply.
whats hardcore gaming if forgot to mention that my monitor is 1680*1050 if that will affect the power need please say so
I believe 450watts is the minimum for the 8800gt and it doesn’t look like you have many other items in your system so you should be fine. I wouldn’t overclock your CPU or videocard since you are close to the minimum requirement. If you plan on having adding extra HD’s or DVD drives or have extra fans or lighting or plan to run SLi you definitely need more wattage.
